I became interested in Haikus after my boss complained that I was sending her excessively long emails, which was true enough, as I was using those emails to think through my answers as I was writing them.
Since I prided myself on my ability to find simple solutions to problems, I resolved to practice the art of extreme precis, and Haikus fitted the bill nicely.
Since I'm English rather than Japanese, I also decided to make the lines rhyme, just for the sheer heck of it.
Colchester at last
With the future and the past
Library was vast
Our models we bring
Where the folding is the thing
Robert J Lang sings
His face is well worn
He's an idiot reborn
Whose hearts have been torn
He's evened the score
And escalating the war
The doctor no more
An angrier note
In a technicolor coat
Going for the throat
Grandfather brusquely
Travelling through history
Stealing scenery
